The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Systems Engineer with expertise in Windows Server Administration, focusing on Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Network Policy Server (NPS) services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows Server environments, along with hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows DHCP and NPS to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

o Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2012/2016), ensuring they are configured, optimized, and secured.
o Administer Windows DHCP services, including scope management, IP address allocation, leases, and relay configuration.
o Configure and manage NPS (Network Policy Server) to implement RADIUS-based authentication and authorization for VPN, Wi-Fi, and other network access services.
o Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server environments on-premises.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IP address allocation, lease renewals, and DHCP scope configuration.
o Monitor and ensure DHCP service performance, reviewing logs and reports for potential issues.
o Set up and manage DHCP servers, including scope configuration and lease management.
o Implement and configure NPS policies to enforce network security protocols, including 802.1X authentication, VPN connections, and other network access controls.
o Perform troubleshooting for RADIUS client connectivity issues and ensure proper integration with other network devices such as switches, wireless controllers, and VPN gateways.
o Configure and maintain Network Policy Server (NPS) for network access control and authentication.
o Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
o Utilize PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate common tasks related to DHCP, NPS, and Windows Server administration.
o Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy new services, and improve the performance of IT systems.
o Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams regarding DHCP and NPS services.
o Provide basic support for Active Directory and Group Policy in hybrid scenarios.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience working in a Windows Server administration role, with a focus on DHCP and NPS services.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012 or 2016).
  • Proven experience in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of DHCP and NPS services in an enterprise environment.


o In-depth knowledge of Windows Server DHCP and NPS configurations, as well as related technologies (RADIUS, 802.1X, VPN, etc.).
o Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, and routing.
o Experience with PowerShell scripting to automate server and network tasks.
o Strong understanding of Windows security policies and group policies.
o Familiarity with DHCP and its role in network infrastructure.
o Knowledge of network authentication and access control concepts.
o Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2012 or 2016 or equivalent.
o Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification.
o CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 II Security Certification.

Desired:

• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnetting).
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and other critical network services.
• Experience with cloud environments or hybrid cloud infrastructure.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
