Evolver Federal is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer Team Lead to support a Federal Client in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security solutions. This role involves leading security projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance the client's cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in network and system security, incident response, and security operations, along with proven leadership experience in guiding teams and managing security initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in network and system security, incident response, and security operations, along with proven leadership experience in guiding teams and managing security initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Design, implement, and maintain security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security, and cloud security solutions.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices to protect enterprise systems and data.
- Oversee threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response to mitigate security risks.
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams to integrate security into system architecture and business processes.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, attack techniques, and security technologies, ensuring proactive security measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
- Manage security projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational security objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- An Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- 1 of the following Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- 7 years of experience leading teams in cybersecurity or a related field is required.
- 3 years of experience in cybersecurity technologies, practices, and principles, such as Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Firewalls, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Log Analysis, and Incident Response.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field
- An active Department of Energy Q Clearance
- Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and system security.
- Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding of incident response methodologies.
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
