Evolver Federal is seeking a Cyber Data Scientist/Analyst to leverage data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics to enhance cybersecurity operations for a federal client. This role involves analyzing large datasets to identify threat patterns, anomalies, and vulnerabilities, as well as developing predictive models to strengthen cyber defenses. The ideal candidate will work closely with security teams to improve threat detection, incident response, and risk assessment through data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate will work closely with security teams to improve threat detection, incident response, and risk assessment through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large-scale cybersecurity datasets to identify threats, anomalies, and attack patterns.
- Develop and implement machine learning models and AI-driven analytics for threat detection and risk assessment.
- Build automated data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze security logs and incident data.
- Research and apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to improve security posture.
- Collaborate with security operations teams to enhance SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and threat intelligence capabilities.
- Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to present security insights to stakeholders.
- Evaluate and optimize cyber risk scoring models to prioritize vulnerabilities and incidents.
- Support incident response teams by providing real-time analysis and forensic insights.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats, data science methodologies, and AI applications in cybersecurity.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices for data security and privacy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field
- An Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- 1 of the following Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CLDS (Certified Lead Data Scientist), or Certified Applied Data Science and AI for Cybersecurity Professionals (CADSAI- CYBER)
- 7 years of experience in cybersecurity and data science
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field
- An active Department of Energy Q level Clearance
- Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and cybersecurity principles.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, data science techniques, and machine learning.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with other IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners
