The Senior Principal Program Quality Engineer Lower Tier Air Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), will support the LTAMDS portfolio of radars. Responsibilities include promoting and executing with a meaningful strong quality mindset, practices, knowledge sharing, and teamwork. This individual will assist in implementation of Mission Area strategic quality improvements across contracts.

This role will work to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of the programs, and interface with US Government Customers, Suppliers and our internal Raytheon Quality team. The LTAMDS portfolio includes contracts in all Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) phases, including design and development, production, and sustainment.

This is an "Onsite" role in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

What You Will Do :
  • You will have Program Quality Lead experience with Proposal experience, BOEs (Basis of Estimates), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and R&Os (Risk & Opportunity).
  • You will interface with the program quality teams, programs, customers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), aiding technical quality and financial performance, and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • You will interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
  • You will manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders, as it is vital to the success of this role.
  • You will be accountable for quality of delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
  • You will develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs' implementation and influence.
  • You will improve processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and information is typically difficult to obtain.
  • You will ensure quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
  • You will oversee root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
  • You will drive initiatives to reduce program costs, mitigating Program Risks and capture Opportunity.
  • You will oversee implementation of APQP (AS9145) as applicable.


Qualification You Must Have :
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of engineering experience in the following areas;
    • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
    • Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
    • Working experience providing technical program oversight for manufacturing and/or design processes.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer :
  • Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification.
  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process.
  • Experience in other functional area such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
  • Experience establishing cost estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Previous experience using verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers.
  • Hands-on experience in solving both business and technical problems.
  • Experience achieving goals and driving continuous improvement.
  • Work experience in contract flow and compliance.
  • Experience with Engineering processes, Change Management, and/or Part Selection

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
