SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented UI/UX designer to work across programs delivering next-generation missile warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business that provides core capabilities for National Security and Defense. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for interfacing with the customer, users and key stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience for critical intelligence community software applications, ensuring seamless functionality, responsiveness, and accessibility. The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $165,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with users and stakeholders following UX methodologies
- Work with the design team and software engineers to generate user flows, user stories, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed visual designs as needed
- Identify and account for edge cases in the experience of the system and user interface
- Work closely with software engineers to ensure technical restraints are understood to problem solve for the best user experience that increase the quality of our product
- Augment the UI development team and advise the team on which JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, Svelte, etc.
- Work enthusiastically, respectfully, and collaboratively within the department as well as across other departments within the company
- Maintain knowledge of UI/UX processes, tools and best practices to achieve highest quality products, delivered on-time
- Stay current with trends in UI/UX principles and visual design
- Deliver and socialize your solutions to the user community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5-15 years of professional work experience designing user interfaces and user experience (UI/UX) for applications
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Proven track record of presenting to and influencing stakeholders and technical leadership
- Strong visual design skills and a keen sense of effective UI
- Solid understanding of UX best practices and strong visual design skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work full-time in-person at the Boulder, CO office location
- Ability to obtain and obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
- Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
- A current active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility
