Senior Electrical Engineer

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company supporting the Department of Defense, is searching for a senior level engineer or equivalent with capabilities in PCB design and layout, instrumentation, electro-optical systems, system power analysis, wiring, PLCs, and motor/motion controllers. This individual is expected to be self-motivated, able to work well in small teams, and interface with management and customers on a regular basis. Hands on experience designing, testing, verifying, and documenting designs is a must. The candidate is also expected to work with optical and mechanical engineers to develop wiring diagrams, select COTS components, specify wiring, and draw industry standard cable diagrams. They will also be required to carry out fabrication activities with technicians, utilize standard instrumentation equipment to conduct test and deploying of systems that will include motion controllers, electro-optic sensors, laser drivers, and mixed signal systems. Flexibility is also a must, given our dynamic product development environment . This work will support high energy laser design and instrumentation development out of our Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Group .

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
• 10+ years of relevant Science & Engineering Experience
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance
• Self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and provide technical leadership
• Experience with FPGA/SoC design and simulation
• Experience with PLCs, motor controllers, and electro-optical systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Hands on experience with complex technical system integration

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with VHDL, MATLAB/Simulink, and C/C++ programming languages
• Knowledgeable of schematic capture tools such as Altium Designer
• Knowledgeable of logic simulation and circuit analysis tools
• Experience with wiring, system power analysis, industrial control systems, and laboratory instrumentation
• Experience with PCB design and layout in mixed signal applications
• Experience with hands on design, testing and debugging mixed signal systems
• Experience with data logging and interfacing data acquisition systems
• Experience leading a team of individuals in the development of a product/deliverable
• Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
