Title: Senior Digital Electronics Design Engineer

Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Translate project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and complete instruments, including microprocessors, power, and analog components.
- Innovatively solve issues, drive project completion to schedule, and work collaboratively with other technical contributors.
- Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support.
- Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.
- Engage with other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions for products.
- Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction; contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt to changes in requirements.
- Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs.
- Provide insights and suggest design modifications based on simulation results.
- Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Manage tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.
- Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing.
- Understanding of design and general computer architecture.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related field.
Additional Job Description:
- Experience with and knowledge of trade space for radiation-hardened parts.
- Schematic capture and board layout experience.
- Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation using HyperLynx and ANSYS.
- Experience in Mentor Graphics PCB design flow preferred.
- Experience with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow desired.
- Experience in design for harsh environments as embodied in common commercial and military standards (e.g., RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810) highly desired.
Other Requirements:
- Must be local to the Cambridge office and able to support flexible in-office work. Full-time remote employees will not be considered for this role.
- Active clearance strongly preferred. Strong candidates will be considered without an active clearance but must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this role.
