A Senior Linux Engineer is needed to support the Department of Defense Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center. This role involves maintaining, securing, and optimizing Linux-based systems to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and manage Linux-based operating systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, networks, and applications.
• Develop customized solutions leveraging Linux and open-source technologies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Unix/Linux systems, resolving user issues proactively.
• Perform system administration tasks, including security patching, software updates, and regular maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and implement protective measures.
Required Qualifications
• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree OR 10+ years of experience in data design, architecture, and simulation services.
• 5+ years supporting DoD major systems or programs.
• Certifications (IAT Level II – One Required):
• Security+ CE
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
• System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
• Preferred: RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or RHCDS (Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist)
