Overview

Senior Software Engineer III

Location: Charleston, SC

Clearance: Active Secret

The Senior Software Engineer III supports the Enterprise Engineering and Integration Services (E2IS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) transition and/or modernization support services to migrate legacy systems from their current hosting environments for the Cloud Engineering, Transition, and Modernization Support Services to Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic).

Responsibilities

  • · Highly specialized in one or more phases of systems engineering and testing.
  • · Evaluates the applicability of a broad range of information systems issues, including hardware/software integration, compatibility and multiple platforms.
  • · Evaluates the effectiveness and applicability of a broad range of information systems.
  • · Works with Test Engineer to develop test cases and formal test plans to implement large information system.
  • · Provides testing input for program engineering and acquisition documents and products.
  • · Test software system and reports defects clearly and concisely.
  • · Tracks all system bugs/discrepancies, and ensures software engineers resolve and incorporate necessary fixes.
  • · Performs complex and repetitive testing to ensure computer system conforms to specifications.


Qualifications

Required:

  • · Master's or Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
  • · Possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
  • · Ten (10) years with Master's or fourteen (14) years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
  • · Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
