The Sr. Retail Information Technology Specialist is pivotal in managing and optimizing a multifaceted IT network infrastructure tailored for retail operations across the organization. This role oversees the seamless integration of network systems in retail environments, including Point of Sale (POS) systems, premise cabling, and infrastructure renovations. The specialist is responsible for evaluating, planning, designing, installing, administering, and supporting a robust WAN/LAN architecture optimized for retail needs. Responsibilities extend to troubleshooting complex network issues, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity, and enhancing network performance to support organizational objectives. Additionally, this role focuses on retail-specific IT systems, ensuring compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards, optimizing checkout processes, and managing network connectivity for POS and inventory systems.
The Sr. Retail IT Specialist designs and manages the structural integrity of retail network systems, integrating advanced technologies with existing WAN and LAN configurations. This includes the strategic deployment of routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless devices, crafting a resilient, scalable, and secure network infrastructure optimized for the unique demands of retail environments.
Operating with considerable independence, the Sr. Retail IT Specialist spearheads major network projects, including store infrastructure upgrades and network enhancements, providing expert guidance across the organization. Collaboration with IT and retail teams is essential to ensure alignment between technical and business strategies in support of retail operations. Exhibiting exceptional written and verbal communication skills, the Sr. Retail IT Specialist is capable of articulating complex technical concepts to various audiences, including executive management and technical teams, ensuring clarity and actionable understanding of IT initiatives that impact retail environments. Includes participation in off-hour changes, on-call duties, and other tasks necessary to support and maintain the organization's retail IT infrastructure.

Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; or a high school diploma/GED or six years of appropriate related experience.
- Extensive expertise in architecting, configuring, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting distributed Windows servers and desktop operating systems (Win11), along with network routers, switches, and wireless access points/controllers in a multi-location environment.
- Expertise in networking protocols essential for Windows Server administration and support, including AD, TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud environment.
- Willingness to frequently travel to meet project requirements and facilitate network deployments across sites.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Active BICSI Installer certification.
- Active Microsoft MCSE and/or CCNA, CCNP certification or equivalent.
- Project management experience and familiarity with various SDLC disciplines.
