Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a WebLogic & Linux Support Administrator at CGI, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing critical middleware operations as part of a once-in-a-generation mainframe replacement. You will work on installing, configuring, and maintaining WebLogic environments, ensuring high availability, and supporting Oracle Customer 2 Meter (C2M) applications. Your role will involve performance tuning, automation, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with DBAs and cross-functional teams to enhance our infrastructure.
Principal Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain WebLogic environments, ensuring stability and performance.
Perform system administration on Linux servers, including troubleshooting and optimization.
Automate operations using Python and Ansible to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
Support database refreshes, WebLogic patching, and middleware upgrades.
Analyze and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.
Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices for evolving middleware tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support critical energy utility infrastructure.
Monitor and enhance system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks proactively.
Document processes and solutions, ensuring knowledge sharing across teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Experience with WebLogic Administration Strong expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle WebLogic environments in an enterprise setting.
Proficiency in Linux System Administration Solid understanding of Linux commands, troubleshooting, networking (ifconfig, netstat), and system performance tuning.
Automation & Scripting Hands-on experience with Python and Ansible for automating deployments, configuration management, and system administration.
Middleware Performance Tuning & Optimization Ability to analyze and improve WebLogic performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and apply best practices.
Database Coordination & Refresh Management Understanding of database interactions, refresh processes, and how middleware components integrate with databases.
Patching & Upgrades Experience applying WebLogic patches, middleware upgrades, and security updates in production environments.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex middleware issues, system failures, and performance challenges.
Collaboration & Communication Ability to work closely with DBAs, developers, and cross-functional teams to support enterprise infrastructure.
Technical Architecture Knowledge Familiarity with enterprise middleware architecture, clustering, high availability, and load balancing strategies.
Experience with Jira or Ticketing Systems Ability to manage support requests, track issues, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Skills):
Experience with Oracle Customer 2 Meter (C2M) or similar enterprise applications.
Knowledge of cloud-based middleware environments (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud).
Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
