We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Chief Engineer within the Mission Management Domain. In this role, you will define the program implementation plan and provide technical direction to a cross functional organization of systems, software, and platform engineers. You will be responsible for the technical follow through of the program, including providing technical direction and clarification of requirements to software development teams & test personnel, perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. You will also support Systems Engineers, defining operations concepts and procedure planning / development as well as interface with personnel from other organizations and represent the program at technical interchange meetings. The work is on-site in Richardson, TX.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do
- Establish and maintain the program technical baseline as it relates to the Mission Management domain
- Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements and design to systems engineers, software development teams and integration and test personnel as it pertains to the Mission Management domain
- Develop program growth strategies and support capture/proposal efforts
- Support technical interchange meetings with program management and the customer and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of the project
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field and minimum 10+ years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
- Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience within the Mission Management Domain
- Development experience leading engineering teams on a large scale government contract
- Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions in one or more of the following areas: Concept of Operations (ConOps) development, requirements definition and management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
- Experience providing technical direction and/or clarification of requirements and design to systems engineers, software development teams and/or integration and test personnel.
- Experience with Agile principles, to include Agile systems engineering practices and/or Agile roles
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation skills to communicate status, issues, and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior stakeholders, customers, and major subcontractors
- Experience with AWS managed services and architecture
- Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
- Experience working BOE development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
