Responsibilities
Noblis is hiring a Nuclear Effects Modeling Expert to serve as a technical expert leading complex scientific projects focused on nuclear effects modeling and analysis for DoD programs. In this role you will be r esponsible for developing and conducting performance testing, modeling, and evaluation of nuclear-related systems while providing innovative technical solutions and subject matter expertise. In addition, you will be responisble building trusted relationships and leading cross-functional teams to address challenging nuclear modeling scenarios & conducting nuclear effects vulnerability analysis. The position requires preparing detailed technical documentation, analyzing statistical modeling data, and ensuring quality deliverables that meet client requirements. Additionally, the position supports acquisition programs through independent verification and validation of nuclear effects models while maintaining high technical standards and fostering collaborative problem-solving approaches.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex scientific projects focused on nuclear effects modeling and analysis
- Develop and conduct performance testing, modeling, and evaluation of nuclear-related systems
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to cross-functional teams
- Build and maintain relationships with senior DoD client leaders and stakeholders
- Prepare technical documentation and analyze statistical modeling data
- Support acquisition programs through independent verification & validation
- Deliver innovative technical solutions for challenging nuclear modeling scenarios
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related technical field with 8 years experience in nuclear effects modeling and simulation
- Will also consider a PHD and 6+ years of experience in nuclear effects modeling and simulation
- 5+ years of experience in DoD nuclear effects modeling
- Advanced knowledge of nuclear effects simulation tools and methodologies
- Strong background in threat, vulnerability and risk analysis related to nuclear effects
- US Citizen with an Active Secret security clearance & ability to obtain TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Preferred
- National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) national laboratory experience or DoD national laboratory experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in system/device performance testing and evaluation
- Experience with DoD acquisition programs
