The Red Gate Group is seeking an Information Operations Specialist to support the United States Air Force (USAF). This critical role focuses on conducting technical communications vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks to mission-critical assets and Department of Defense (DoD) infrastructure.
As an Information Operations Specialist, you will evaluate and analyze the security of computer networks, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), radio, wireless, and other communication systems. Your work will directly support the Mission Assurance (MA) Program by identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring operational resilience, and enhancing the security posture of critical USAF facilities. You will collaborate with senior leaders and technical experts to safeguard Task Critical Assets (TCAs) and Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI), which are vital to national security.
Key Responsibilities:
Vulnerability Assessments: Perform in-depth technical assessments of communication networks, including computer systems, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), radio, and wireless communications, to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Risk Analysis: Evaluate findings and provide technical recommendations to improve the resilience and security of mission-critical communications systems.
Mission Assurance Support: Ensure assessments align with DoDI 3020.45, AFPD 10-24, and AFI 10-2402, supporting the USAF’s Mission Assurance Construct and broader DoD objectives.
Technical Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and briefings that clearly articulate vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended mitigation strategies to USAF leadership and DoD stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work closely with mission assurance teams, cybersecurity experts, and infrastructure personnel to integrate assessment findings into the Mission Assurance Assessment (MAA) process.
Operational Support: Support USAF and DoD agencies in identifying and managing communication-related risks across various installations and facilities.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Demonstrated experience performing technical communications vulnerability assessments across:
Computer networks
Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
Radio and wireless communications
Other critical communication systems
Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, vulnerability identification, and risk mitigation strategies
Ability to produce detailed technical reports and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
