Traveling Linux HPC Engineer
Location: Anywhere in the USA (must be near a major airport)
Travel: ~75% (Monday-Thursday/Friday) with some remote work
We are seeking a Traveling High-Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to join our team. This role requires an experienced engineer with a solid understanding of Linux, networking, and HPC infrastructure, including Mellanox and/or InfiniBand technologies. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and optimizing HPC clusters at client sites across the U.S., making travel a significant part of this position.
What You’ll Do:
Install, configure, and maintain HPC clusters at customer locations.
Troubleshoot and optimize networking and interconnect performance (InfiniBand, Ethernet).
Deploy and fine-tune Linux-based HPC environments.
Work with Mellanox/Infiniband hardware and related technologies.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure seamless HPC deployments.
Provide remote support when not traveling.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 3+ years in HPC, networking, or systems engineering
Linux administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, or RHEL).
Basic networking knowledge (IP, routing, switches, firewalls).
Experience with InfiniBand and/or Mellanox technologies is a big plus.
Familiarity with job schedulers (SLURM, PBS, etc.) is helpful but not required.
Other Requirements:
Must be based in the U.S. near a major airport.
Must be a US citizen. Government clearance is preferred but not required.
Comfortable with weekly travel (Monday-Friday, ~75%).
