Maxar is currently seeking a Lead Product Manager for AI/ML Models to join our team in Westminster, CO, Washington D.C., or Herndon, VA. In this role, you will lead the creation of existing and AI/ML models , from the idea stage, through launch, to end of life for Maxar's portfolio of Insights .

The ideal candidate
The position involves close interaction with our Applied Science (AI/ML/Data Science) Team, key customers and G o-To-Market , marketing, product strategy, product partnership, software development, and operations team members . Job duties include understanding how to bring user and customer problems to our Applied Science Teams to determine if Maxar builds, buys, or partners to deliver a Machine Learning Model to solve a high-value problem, gathering market requirements across diverse customer sets , performing competitive market analysis, identifying key product requirements , developing product business cases and plans , developing product requirements for product development teams, collabo r ating with engineering teams to build and ship new products and features , and driving opportunities to enable real value creation inside our customer's organizations .
The ideal candidate will have background and experience working directly with customers to apply machine learning and data science techniques to solve problems and understand how to increas e value. In this role, you must be flexible and able to work across product teams and independently with potential partners . You must be an organized, self-starter comfortable engaging both business and technology decision makers within Maxar, within partner organizations, and with potential customers. You must possess strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills to communicate vision, strategy and tactics across multiple stakeholders.As an internal and external evangelist for the Maxar Insights product offerings, you will require strong communication and collaboration skills and the internal drive to make the product vision a reality.
Last, you are willing to dream big and imagine new solutions to problems leveraging the latest advances in AI/ML research but grounded in making sure these solutions can be delivered as product that can truly drive ROI and have a solid value proposition in market.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $104,000.00 - $174,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $115,000.00 - $191,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

What you will do day-to-day
- Own the roadmap for Maxar's AI Models, including planning quarterly releases, backlog grooming, and prioritizing key customer requests .
- Lead sales, technical product management, and engineering team members to develop top-quality products by serving as the bridge between customers/sales and engineerin g.
- Conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps influencing our business and our customers - and excel at data driven decision making
- Analyze the competition, market trends, and execute on strategies to be the market leader in geospatial and predictive analytics
- Define, drive, and communicate product roadmaps aligned with the corporate strategy, as well as new and existing capabilities
- Partner closely with Applied Science and E ngineering to prioritize work to be done based on market demands and maximizing benefit to the business
- Provide product requirements that can be used in an Agile framework with Maxar engineering and operations teams in the creation of new product capabilities based on market needs and your customer expertise
- Lead the development of value propositions and sales tools to be used by the sales team
- Work closely with marketing and brand on external messaging and naming for product
- Lead cross-functional rollout and go-to-market of products and new feature sets
- Train all customer-facing employees on product details, value proposition, and sales techniques
- Serve as the technical expert on your product while working directly with customers (jointly with sales) both to assist sales in closing deals and to ensure a positive customer experience
- Serve as the external and internal evangelist for your products
- Work with sales and finance to accurately build business cases to forecast and monitor the success of products, and use these measures to drive product strategy
- Set and regularly evaluate product pricing
- Represent your product through any Maxar-wide prioritization processes
- Ensure legal requirements are met, and any risks are mitigated through collaboration with legal
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in Business , an Earth Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of 7 years related work experience
- Minimum of 5 years product management experience
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with business intelligence tools, decision engines, and or other products that deal with complex workflows and dependencies
- Experience working directly with customers to apply machine learning and other technologies to solve business problems and increase value
- MBA or advanced degree
- Product team leadership experience working in a comple x environment
- Excellent communication skills along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
- Excellent cross-functional skills across customers, sales, marketing, operations, development and suppliers
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of organization and attention-to-detail
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance if requested
