Saab, Inc. is currently looking for systems engineers to fulfill active program developments, as well as developing radar solutions for the DoD and Civil radar markets. This role is crucial to bringing the capabilities needed by our customers and establishing and advancing Saab’s position in the market.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop, analyze, design, and integrate complex radar systems.
Perform system analysis, trade studies, simulation, modeling, performance budgeting, and design and requirements capture.
Design responsibilities may include system, power system management, cooling, RF, and/or signal processing architectures.
Develop and maintain an understanding of system level requirements for assigned systems and the design features that satisfy these requirements.
Maintain the documentation baselines for each system variant.
Analyze system data to determine adequate system performance under various environmental and operational conditions.
Investigate system anomalies and recommend actions to resolve these anomalies.
Provide identification, assessment, and resolution of risks during program planning and execution.
Work with Technical Leads to ensure technical, cost, and schedule performance is achieved.
Work within cross-functional teams that include systems, software, electrical, mechanical, test, and production engineers.
Support technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs.
Support internal Saab investment and technology development for radar product line development.
Periodic travel may be required.
May include leadership opportunities for qualified persons.
Compensation Range: $90,000 - $112,500
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Skills and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
5+ years experience with analysis, development, design, or integration of complex safety critical or mission critical products (typically as found in aerospace, defense/military, medical, automotive, energy/nuclear, etc.).
Demonstrated experience in any of the following domains: system concept trade studies, operational analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships in team environment.
Experience writing, decomposing, and allocating system, sub-system, hardware, or software requirements.
High-quality communication and presentation skills, able to effectively communicate to senior leadership and customers.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, etc.).
Experience with process management tools (Jira, etc.).
Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for radar systems and systems engineering processes.
Experience working with US Department of Defense (DoD) customers and the DoD procurement/acquisition environment.
Experience with digital signal processing techniques
Experience with target tracking techniques
Familiarity with open architectures (e.g. Modular Open System Architecture)
Experience with Agile development approach
Experience with MATLAB (or similar).
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in MagicDraw/Cameo or similar.
Proficiency in one or more high-level languages (Python, Java, C, C++, etc.).
INCOSE CSEP or ESEP Certification
