Saab, Inc.'s Surveillance U.S. division is seeking a Digital Engineer to support multiple product development efforts. Design and Implement FPGA-based communication and digital signal processing algorithms.
Selecting methods and techniques for implementing said solutions in leading edge FPGA/SoC devices with high bandwidth memories, and multi-gigabit high speed communication interfaces.
Development of advanced digital signal processing algorithms for radar applications.
Hands-on work with full scale radar systems.
This position will be located in Syracuse, NY with the potential of a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office 2 days remote.

Compensation Range: $80,000- $100,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Completed bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related discipline
3+ years of experience preferred, inclusive of a strong co-op/internship or military background
Ability to read, understand, and evaluate schematics
Experience with FPGA devices (e.g. Intel/Altera, Xilinx)
Knowledge of VHDL
Demonstrated capability in design simulation with tools like ModelSim/QuestaSim
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience with Altera FPGA toolset (Quartus, Platform Designer, DSB Builder, etc)
Capability with Matlab/Simulink preferred
Basic understanding of SoC devices Digital Signal Processing applications
Must hold or be able to obtain US DoD SECRET security clearance
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
