As a Radiological / Laboratory Supervisor, you will be a significant contributor to ensuring the safe and secure operation of critical radiological facilities supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for facility radiological and laboratory operations, including direct oversight of day-to-day support staff. A key aspect of this position will be serving as a facility Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) via current qualification as a RSO or the ability to obtain RSO qualification prior to radiological operations.

As a Radiological / Laboratory Supervisor, you will be a significant contributor to ensuring the safe and secure operation of critical radiological facilities supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for facility radiological and laboratory operations, including direct oversight of day-to-day support staff. A key aspect of this position will be serving as a facility Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) via current qualification as a RSO or the ability to obtain RSO qualification prior to radiological operations.
Main Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks
- Foster and lead safe, efficient radiological and laboratory activities that prioritize the health and safety of the workers, the public, and the environment.
- Serve as main point of contact for development of radiological and laboratory programs and procedures to support operation of facility.
- Assist facility design, construction, and systemization activities as needed to ensure laboratory functional needs are met.
- Manage daily radiological / laboratory activities, including direct oversight of supporting personnel.
- Assume ownership of radiological dose monitoring program for facility personnel and subsequent reporting process.
- Ensure facility compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and protocol, including hazardous waste disposal.
- Assist facility operations manager as needed during operations, maintenance, and testing activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, biology, engineering or other relevant discipline, at least 4 years experience directly related to contract performance, and at least 2 years experience in a supervisory / leadership capacity or equivalent.
- Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and / or in a radiological facility.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of team members.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) certification.
- Supervisory experience in hazardous, critical environments.
- Active Secret Clearance.
