Forklift Operator

Amentum is searching for a Forklift Operator with an active Secret Security Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf-life regulations, and staging procedures
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
• Ensuring loads are properly secured, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material
• Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc.
• Performing daily equipment checks, such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment
• Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them in assigned places
• Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll-offs, and other required equipment
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan
• Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials, and report deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment
• This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards
• Operate tools and equipment in the performance of duties as approved by management
• Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access
• Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric, or liquid propane gas-powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.
• Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment
• Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep
• Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Twelve months of job-related experience and/or training
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
• Position may require travel
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
• This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis
• Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed
