ECS is seeking a Digital Rights Management Senior Consultant to work in Washington, DC .
We are seeking a Senior Digital Rights Management (DRM) Consultant to lead the strategic direction, implementation, and operations of our DRM program while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires both business acumen and technical expertise to drive DRM initiatives, support compliance, and oversee DRM technology operations. Additionally, the consultant will be expected to step in and manage DRM technical operations and development teams when needed.

We are seeking a Senior Digital Rights Management (DRM) Consultant to lead the strategic direction, implementation, and operations of our DRM program while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires both business acumen and technical expertise to drive DRM initiatives, support compliance, and oversee DRM technology operations. Additionally, the consultant will be expected to step in and manage DRM technical operations and development teams when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
- Develop and execute a DRM strategy aligned with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
- Assess current DRM infrastructure and policies, providing recommendations for security, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, security teams, and technology groups to ensure DRM solutions support organizational needs.
- Lead risk assessments, compliance evaluations, and DRM governance initiatives.
- Provide training and best practices guidance to internal teams and stakeholders on DRM policies, compliance, and enforcement.
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Oversee the implementation, integration, and maintenance of DRM technologies such as Adobe DRM, Microsoft RMS, and encryption standards.
- Support software development and engineering teams, ensuring DRM solutions meet security and operational requirements.
- Step in as an operational leader for the DRM team when needed, managing software development, troubleshooting, and DRM enforcement policies.
- Ensure DRM security controls, access management, and automation are consistently updated and aligned with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Collaborate with security engineers to enhance DRM workflows, including encryption, content protection, and rights enforcement.
- Lead incident response efforts related to DRM breaches, unauthorized access, or content security risks.
Salary Range: $185,000-$218,000
Required Skills
- Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- 7+ years of experience in DRM strategy, governance, or operations.
- Strong understanding of DRM technologies, including Adobe DRM, Microsoft Rights Management, Widevine, or similar platforms.
- Experience with risk management, compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP), and security governance.
- Ability to manage technical teams and step in as an operational leader when required.
- Strong business acumen, with experience aligning DRM strategies with business and security needs.
- Experience in developing DRM policies, enforcing access controls, and driving security initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions.
- Prior experience leading DRM or content security teams.
- Hands-on knowledge of DRM policy automation, API integrations, and encryption technologies.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security models, IAM/ICAM, and conditional access policies.
- Background in digital content security, enterprise data protection, or software development oversight.
