GeoYeti focuses on advanced analytics, data science, development of the applications that support such work. We seek mid-level Data Scientist to support a client in Reston, VA. Responsibilities

This work requires data science support to the creation, maintenance, and teaching of training for data science topics. This includes identifying topics for training, creating a training process, and administering that process. Well qualified candidates will have a desire to teach and mentor data scientists and have a thorough understanding of the goals and mission of IC and DoD clients. This job requires the applicant to be successful working individually and with a small group.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required to start.
  • 5+ years working with Python especially with creating Jupyter notebooks and working with core data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and others).
  • 1+ year experience working with Unix environments including common terminal commands
  • 1+ year experience with git and GitHub and using it collaboratively as part of a team.
  • 1+ year experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with big data tools for distributed computing, including Spark
  • Experience working programmatically with geospatial data
  • Experience using conda for python environment management
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
  • Experience with creating web applications using python
  • Experience working in cloud environments.
  • A desire to learn and teach data science topics
