Ramp Service Agent Supervisors are responsible for the overall performance and management oversight of designated Ramp Service Agents. RSA Supervisors also ensure Company policies, processes, safety standards and training are met and adhered to. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees marshalling of aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)
  • Supervises servicing of aircraft as needed including:
    • lavatory service.
    • water service.
    • cabin cleaning.
    • other services as needed.
  • Provides overall direction of aircraft de-icing / anti-icing
  • Monitors crew shuttle
  • Manages safety during boarding and deplaning and assist crews in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Directs loading and unloading of aircraft baggage and cargo
  • Provides safe and efficient operations of all ground service equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times
  • Observes safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be willing to work in inclement weather
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints
  • Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
  • Reasoning Abilities:
    • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form
    • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Language Skills:
    • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Write routine reports and correspondence
    • Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Math skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior Ramp Service experience
  • Prior experience in Aviation Industry
  • Supervisory experience

Physical Demands: moderate
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably
  • The RSA Supervisor on occasion may lift or move with help up to 200 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 70 to 100 pounds, and constantly lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employees are regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk
  • Employees may be required to climb, sit, and balance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
  • The RSA Supervisor is usually working outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day
  • Occasionally high noise levels where hearing protection is required and provided
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
