Software Engineer Developer- Mid Level or Experienced

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a Software Engineer Developer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), this position will be supporting The Boeing Company's Phantom Works Space Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position will support the development of cutting-edge CI/CS pipelines supporting multiple programs ranging from our Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) or Modeling and Simulation based test and training capabilities for Satellite Digital Twins and Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs.

Support small team with responsibilities for development, documents, aligns requirements with deliverables. Able to create and establish software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, then execute test procedures and document ensuring results align with system requirements. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Champion the use of automation tools and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows and accelerate software delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver the best value.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and technical analysis skills.
  • Work independently to identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Think abstractly and see the big picture while evaluating technical details.
  • Represent Boeing in a professional manner while navigating multiple stakeholders.
  • Leverage agile practices to define project themes and epics.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Mid-level:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Coding Challenge:

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Required Qualifications:
  • An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active. A final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux operating system.
  • 2+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD)
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-native and containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • 2+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • 1+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Vagrant)

Desired Qualifications:
  • An active U.S. Top Secret/ SCI Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.
  • 5+ years of experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience with complex systems containing many integrated components.
  • 5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with fine tuning Kubernetes and the underlying host OS for optimal performance in a low-latency environment.
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software.
  • Experience and ability to support Government security requirements and best practices for software delivery involving system accreditation.

Telework/Remote Availability: Telework/Remote work currently not authorized

Work Location(s): This position is expected to be fully onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.

Travel: This position may require up to 10% of time

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Mid-Level: $107,100 - $144,900

Senior Level: $127,500 - $172,500
