BreakPoint Labs is looking for a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience who has a strong foundation in software development and a passion for learning new technologies in an ever-changing industry. This role requires someone who can work independently while knowing when to reach out for support. The ideal candidate will primarily work with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, GitLab, and Docker, but should be open to exploring and adapting to emerging technologies and handling unique technical challenges as they arise.
BreakPoint Labs needs someone proactive, curious, and eager to grow, with the ability to tackle both structured projects and odd-end tasks.
The position is remote/hybrid. Candidates must live within Dayton, OH. There may be occasions you will need to work onsite at the customer location, so you will need to live near the location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other developers and engineers to develop and support applications written in Ruby.
- Troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions.
- Draft and maintain technical documentation.
- Package application for deployment using Docker.
- Apply knowledge of AWS cloud services.
Required Experience:
- 3 years of experience in the development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of software applications.
- 1 year of experience writing applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, AWS, GitLab, and Docker.
Certifications Required:
- Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]
- If the Ideal Candidate does not possess the Security+ CE, they will need to have the ability to obtain the Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA] within the first 90 days of employment
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in the Area(s) of Study Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
Security Clearance Required: Top Secret or Interim Top Secret
