POSITION OVERVIEW


The Space Command and Control (C2) Government System Program Office (SPO; SSC/BCC) is responsible for developing software and supporting architecture for the Organize, Understand, Plan, Decide, Direct, and Monitor capabilities within the C2 Joint Capability Areas (JCAs). The Space C2 Program Office has a requirement to deliver ATLAS monitoring and system, including deliverables such as Help Desk as a Service, Infrastructure Management, and Quality of Service reports and updated maintenance processes to enable Government management of weapon system performance.


The Infrastructure SME is responsible for maintaining and managing hardware systems, including server, storage, and ADPE infrastructure. This individual provides lifecycle maintenance support, obsolescence tracking, and ensures infrastructure reliability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop configuration management, inventory control, and lifecycle maintenance for ATLAS-related Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) hardware located within the 18th SDS Ops Area

  • Purchase adequate spares and replacements, in accordance with USSF tech refresh policies and procedures

  • Coordinate with the LOE 1 platform and Space C2 Software enablement contractor on the Space C2 Infrastructure items located in VSFB to maintain operations of Space C2 and KM systems to include: Firewalls, Switches, Linux and Windows VMs, Cloud/Blade server configurations, Desktop support, Storage arrays, Edge Devices, Last mile connectivity to KM environment(s), User Equipment and access points, Manage external data feeds to Space C2 environments

  • Provide support to transition Space C2 and KM mission operations from existing systems to modern products through support actions that maintain the status and health of the system and enable quick restoral of service once a failure occurs. This support includes, but is not limited to:

    • Fault detection and isolation

    • Replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)

    • Accomplishment of scheduled/preventive maintenance actions

    • Identification of system improvements and modifications

    • Obsolescence management

    • Configuration control of system network and software within the boundary

    • File and database administration

    • Installation of approved updates

    • Stock control of on-site spares, miscellaneous parts, and work order residue



  • Deliver hands-on expertise and configuration for networking appliances and cabling, within the contract boundary

  • Ensure each monitored system is properly documented, configuration controlled through Space C2 CMB process, and up to date with security relevant software/firmware upgrades

  • Conduct and support system level troubleshooting and fault isolation

  • Develop and maintain an operational relevant spare posture for on-prem infrastructure as a deliverable, but no later than the end of contract Year 1, and subsequent years

  • Coordinate with Base IT, Infrastructure Teams, the SPO, and other relevant organizations for connections and approvals for changes

  • Participate in local area and Space C2 change boards when they impact or have the potential to impact Space C2 efforts

  • Coordinate and support the execution of various cybersecurity analyses to include both hands-on vulnerability tests as well as passive cyber analyses

  • Maintain appropriate on-prem expertise to complete all urgent and non-urgent tasking to include on-boarding and training new members of the team

  • Work with the SPO to determine the priorities for ADPE tech refresh within the contract boundary and, upon approval, purchase appropriate replacements, and submit invoices to the SPO within 30 days for reimbursement

  • Inform the SPO and Hardware as a Service (HaaS) teams in a timely manner for incidents, issues, or events affecting Space C2 SDA capabilities


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required Qualifications:


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Possess Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years' related experience in infrastructure support or system engineering experience

  • Microsoft or Cisco certifications (MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP)

  • Strong workflow management skills

  • Proven ability to discretely handle sensitive and confidential information

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Problem solver, critical thinker, motivated self-starter


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V)

  • DoD system support experience

  • Familiarity with ATLAS, KM, or similar C2 systems
