In the Advanced Lead Propulsion Modeling & Simulation Engineer role, you will be an integral part of the Military Performance and Operability team supporting GE Aerospace's next generation of military engine architectures, new customer airframes and currently fielded products. This role focuses on supporting the aerothermal component and propulsion system modeling necessary to support Preliminary Design, Steady-State Performance, Transient Analysis, Operability, Controls, and other disciplines. You will have a chance to further grow your technical and leadership skills, while influencing the direction of the newly standalone Military Performance Methods team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In the role of Advanced Lead Propulsion Modeling & Simulation Engineer, you will develop and maintain cycle performance models.

Additionally your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing physics-based aerothermal system models that behave reasonably throughout the operational envelope
  • Resolving model issues through understanding both the physical system, the modeling that represents it, as well as the numerical iteration methods used to solve the system.
  • Packaging models for delivery to customers and integration into rigs or simulators
  • Creating, developing, and integrating aerothermal models of individual components, physical processes, and subsystem models, that constitute an overall system model.
  • Leading design reviews of modeling approach, functionality, and validity
  • Executing and assisting others with the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Assuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Interfacing with tool organizations and commercial teams to improve and standardize processes such as data reduction and class code development
  • Managing and communicating project status, business issues and significant developments
  • Participating as a presenter and reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Actively supporting the Performance Technical Community and Design Board
  • Leading strategic initiatives and aligning efforts to FLIGHT DECK


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineering
  • At least 7 years of experience in a relevant engineering position
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • Ability to obtain Secret US security clearance or higher. Or current or prior Secret clearance or higher

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
