Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a certified Electrical Engineer to join our team in Albany, GA. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, problem solving ability and organizational skills. The Electrical Engineer performs professional engineering services to support the design, fabrication, manufacture, maintenance, repair and rebuild of various Marine Corps equipment. Engineering. The candidate will provide Engineering services to include functions such as research, design, reverse engineering, evaluation, inspection, and standardization of equipment.
This position is located in Albany, GA.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
-Provides technical advice and information to other engineers, technicians, and other divisions/agencies.
-Assist engineers and technicians in the design/prototype of equipment required to support the production processes.
-Uses engineering judgement to ensure all designs are safe, reliable, cost effective, and meet requirements.
-Create three dimensional models that correctly define the components and assemblies required to fabricate and install electrical systems for a specific vehicle platform.
-Create and review engineering models/drawings, electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, programmable logic controller programing.
-Request for deviation waivers, engineering change proposals, work instructions, and other engineering documents required to support the design, manufacture, rebuild and repair process in accordance applicable requirements and statements of work.
-Perform troubleshooting on a variety of systems that develop unusual/unique problems during the design, development, prototyping, and low rate of initial phases of production.
-Coordinate with and assist customers in the development of statements of work (SOWs).
-Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) from technical data packages and creates required Statements of Work (SOWs) for procurement of parts based on the Statement of work
- Determines skill sets required and develops labor hour and material cost estimates for funding approval from the customer.
-Prepares technical data packages as required for procurement and production.
Works with draftsmen and others to ensure a complete technical data package is produced for future procurement and production.
- Develops and implements new production techniques to include minimization of the impact of electromagnetic interference on electrical and communications systems, new and innovative materials/procedures, and assembly tooling.
-Recommends improvement to maintenance center facilities to include plant layout, equipment requirements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
-Bachelors degree in engineering from a college accredited by the Engineering Council for Professional Development. Engineering field should be related to the role in the Electronic or Electrical Engineering field.
-Familiarity with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, civil, and industrial engineering is a must.
-Have the ability to interpret and apply specifications, job plans, inspection plans, work orders, drawings, depot maintenance work requirements, rebuild standards, technical manuals, procedures, oral or written instructions and other technical documents.
-Have the ability to design electronic and electrical systems for Marine Corps tactical equipment such as acquired through a bachelors degree program in Electrical Engineering supplemented by experience and design or maintenance of electrical systems.
-Experience in a leadership role that required coordination of tasks, events, extensive planning, and scheduling.
-Knowledge and familiarity of electronic, electrical, and other engineering disciplines and program management, production control, logistics management and project coordination.
-Knowledge of and the ability to troubleshoot various military or heavy equipment assets.
Have a working knowledge of electrical theory in the development of engineering concepts, practices, and principles required to prototype, design, and overhaul tactical ground equipment.
-Have the ability to interpret and use schematics, diagrams, engineering plans and specifications.
-Have the ability to recognize and develop a new direction, approach, or application of improved techniques, method, and operating procedures in development of a design or prototype project.
-Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to include presenting technical data at meetings/conferences and exchanging information with customers in order to gain cooperation, information, and acceptance of controversial situations in the design and prototype systems.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $78,400.00 - $154,300.00.
