Tyto Athene has an opening for a Space Modeling and Simulation Analyst to support a government client. The job duties will include modeling, simulation, and analysis of global space and counterspace capabilities. Analyst will research and report on global current and emerging space capabilities, provide capability assessments, orders-of-battle, space doctrine, strategy, communications and collections, mission vulnerabilities, and mission analysis. Efforts will identify on-orbit observables, inform requirements, and support system architecture design, fielding, and deployment decisions. Additionally, the Analyst will provide intelligence analysis in support of deliberate, contingency, crisis, and exercise planning.
Responsibilities:
* Provide on-site support through advanced computer modeling and simulation and the production of detailed technical assessments.
* Conduct all-source analytic production of space activities and capabilities.
* Lead evaluations using astrodynamics/ orbital mechanics tool suites and generation of code, as may be required, for novel analysis and visualization of results
* Support development of mission analysis of civilian and military organizations, command structure, leadership, equipment, weapons, platforms, systems and their readiness and disposition, facilities.
* Participate in working groups with Subject Matter Experts to develop products and support command level planning efforts.
* Coordinate with intelligence community (IC) to develop foreign adversary space threat analysis for DOD partners.
* Utilize technical judgement in instances to fill knowledge gaps regarding system CONOPS, capabilities, and performance parameters.
* Use various tools to perform analysis of emerging space capabilities.
* Present simulation-assisted comprehensive analysis to command decision makers.
* Develop courses of action in support of command mission analysis and planning efforts.
Required:
* Minimum of two or more years of space or counter-space experience.
* Experience in the the following areas:
* Orbital mechanics concepts, including rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), and analysis tools (e.g., STK)
* Multi-phenomenology (optical, radar, passive radiofrequency, etc.) space object surveillance and identification (SOSI)/ space situational awareness (SSA)/ space domain awareness (SDA) concepts, technology, analysis, and software tools
* Orbital mechanics concepts, including rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), and analysis tools (e.g., STK)
* Experience using 3D modeling/ CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.)
* Self-motivated and possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Coding experience in C++, Python or MATLAB with ability to use programming languages/ scripts to analyze/ manipulate data and automate processes, as required.
* Understanding of Electro Optical, Radar and Passive RF Sensing
* Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software systems with experience using both Windows and Linux operating systems
* On-site support in VA
Required Degree:
* BS or higher degree in related fields of engineering, physics, mathematics, STEM
Required Clearance:
* Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Desired:
* Other desirable relevant experience including ISR, SIGINT, collections management, targeting and other analytical techniques.
* Excellent briefing ability including experience with briefing senior level personnel.
* Experience with Joint Preparation Intelligence of the Operational Environment (JIPOE).
* Experience within the Space Intelligence Enterprise (SIE).
* Understanding joint publications and reporting procedures to meet IC standards.
* Ability to apply Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.
* Experience with software tools, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Satellite Toolkit (STK).
* Active clearance DoD TS/SCI with Poly clearance, is highly desired.
Compensation:
* Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $120K-$160K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
