Job Description

Systems Security Administrator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a System Security Administrator with a strong background in information security, IT risk management, and system security administration. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude to excel in a fast-paced and highly sensitive environment. As a key member of the security team, you will analyze complex IT security issues, ensure compliance with federal security regulations, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Analysis & Compliance:
  • Analyze and assess IT security risks in complex environments, ensuring compliance with federal standards such as FISMA, NIST 800-53 (rev), FISCAM, DOD, DCID, and FBI security protocols.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive systems and data.
  • Monitor and evaluate security practices to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Lead and manage a team of system security administrators, ensuring alignment with security best practices and organizational goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members while fostering a collaborative and resilient work environment.

Customer Support & Access Management:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for IT customer support, managing account and access control processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access-related issues while maintaining a professional and patient approach during urgent situations.

Risk Management & Process Improvement:
  • Evaluate and improve security processes to mitigate emerging threats and enhance overall system resilience.
  • Continuously assess IT systems to ensure compliance with evolving cybersecurity standards and regulations.


Required Qualifications:

✔️ Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, or a related Science field.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

✔️ Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information security or IT security-related roles.
  • At least 2 years of FISMA-related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing system risk in complex IT environments and providing strategic solutions.

✔️ Certifications:
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), PMP, and CompTIA A+ certifications are preferred.


Preferred Skills & Expertise:
  • Extensive knowledge of NIST, FISMA, DOD, DCID, and FBI security standards and protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex security concepts effectively.
  • Ability to remain professional and resilient in high-pressure and urgent situations.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize competing tasks, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience managing IT customer support and account management processes.
