Project manager and lead engineer:

The Lead Engineer provides all the necessary technical expertise and guidance to architect and design solutions for the customer. Ensuring effective execution of all architecture tasks with the customer assigned projects. Responsible for providing thought leadership for our clients while providing technical oversight for solution deployment engagements. Also, will play a critical role in understanding the clients' strategic and programmatic needs in a Windows and Linux mixed environment. The engineer will propose effective solutions and consistently provide high-level customer service.

Key Responsibilities of a Project Manager and Lead IT Engineer:

Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical direction and guidance to the team, ensuring projects align with customers business goals and technical best practices.
• Design and implement technical solutions, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Assist in leading the team with all Intelligence Agency NIST 800 accreditation activities
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, recommending new tools and processes to improve team efficiency. Lead must understand Windows powershell, Linux scripting, ETL, VMWARE, LLM's, Data Science and Artifical Intelligence technologies, AWS Cloud architecture and services.

Project Management:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements, designs, and test plans.
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure project success.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagements to assess client business and technical objectives, determine deliverables, evaluate risk and execute projects effectively.
• Design and implement medium to large-scale IT solutions, including data analytics platforms, cloud infrastructure, and IT service management standards, tools and methodologies
• Design, implement, maintain procedures relating to service catalog and/or service level management activities.
• Align standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy as well as identify and communicate current and emerging technology concepts
• Work to develop strategic plans for architecture, engineering and integration as well as assist in rectifying issues and improving service in faltering/failing projects
• Identify implementation risks and analyze potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives

Other Responsibilities:

• May be involved in vendor management and contract negotiations.
• May be responsible for monitoring and optimizing IT infrastructure and systems.
• May be involved in developing and implementing IT policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification.
• Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in AWS or Azure Cloud platforms.
• Operating Systems: Experience with both Linux and Windows environments.
• Solution Architecture: Proven experience in architecting solutions.
• Leadership: Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
