Secret Cleared Chinese Linguist/Scanner

We are seeking Secret Cleared Chinese Linguist/Scanners with active security clearance to support classified data collection and linguistic processing. This role requires precision, technological proficiency, and the ability to work with sensitive information in a secure environment. Successful candidates will support a government contract performing scanning, OCR, translation, and quality control/editing.
Clearance: Secret (minimum)
Language: English and Chinese (Fluent speaking, reading, writing, translation skills, editing skills)
Work Location: Falls Church, VA
Contract Duration: One year
Equipment: All work must be performed on Manpower computers and equipment
Hours: 40 hours/week (during normal business hours EST)
Position Overview & Responsibilities
As a Chinese Linguist, you will be responsible for a range of linguistic and administrative tasks, including:
• Data Collection & Processing
o Scanning hardcopy documents using classified scanners (onsite only).
o Applying Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools (e.g., ABBYY, Adobe) for digitization.
o Conducting text clean-up and refinement to ensure accuracy and readability.
• Linguistic & Analytical Tasks
o Performing data entry and document formatting per client specifications.
o Aligning translations to maintain consistency across multilingual documents.
o Formatting and structuring documents for optimal usability and accessibility.
o Utilizing advanced language software and forensic processing tools.
• Additional Responsibilities
o Collaborating with team members to complete linguistic assignments efficiently.
o Maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
o Performing other administrative or linguistic tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
o U.S. Citizenship (Mandatory)
o Active Security Clearance (Mandatory)
o Bachelor’s Degree (Mandatory)
o Native Mandarin Chinese proficiency with formal education in Chinese
o Near-native English proficiency with strong grammar and writing skills
o Excellent typing and keyboarding skills in both Chinese and English
o Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
o Demonstrated ability to improve quality and efficiency through feedback
Preferred Qualifications
o Translation or post-editing machine translation experience (not required but highly desirable)
o Familiarity with OCR software, forensic linguistic tools, and document processing systems
o Experience in human language technology
o Three years of relevant professional experience
