The Network Technical Advisor, will support MITS with approving engineering configurations and installation drawings, as needed. Will provide technical direction, testing, engineering, and troubleshooting guidance, topology drawings, and support all MITS efforts, as directed. Assure superior engineering support is provided. Will provide training for MITS ENGs, projects, and U. S. Navy personnel (when needed during tempLAN migrations and pier connectivity). Drive continuous improvement with respect to engineering activities in safety, regulatory, compliance, production, testing, research/development, and costs. Supports continuity of day-to-day operations while US Navy ships are undergoing extended periods of maintenance and upgrades.

Responsibilities:

Serves as the leading member of the Networking team collectively responsible for the installation, maintenance and overall technical administration of temporary LAN systems, Wireless Connectivity Solutions and any other projects that might need the technical oversite. Ensures the 24/7 availability, integrity, security, and reliability of all Network Systems. 
Oversees design, implementation and execution of the network security hardware/software maintenance and upgrades. Responsible for infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and support of complex network security systems and tools used to protect and support multiple enterprise networks. 
Manage technology programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and successful on-time delivery.
Work with core teams to develop and articulate tactical plans and long-term strategy for MI Technical Solutions, including initiating new programs, managing various programs of work, engaging teams and engineers, and setting the pace for development, deployment, and delivery of networking systems and infrastructure.
Utilize technical judgment in working with large, cross-functional teams.
Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company.
Assists with network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
Configure network hardware such as servers, access points, routers, and switches.
Understand and provide feedback to troubleshooting network issues within established guidelines.
Validate all equipment requirements and Build of Materials (BOM), as required.
Works on projects/matters in a leadership and/or support role.
Define and document best practices and support procedures and train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
Research and recommend current and future technology resources, purchases, and services to meet the organization's needs as requested. Assist in analyzing design and network models as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Network Engineer Technical Advisor
Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software. 

Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in network Operation/Security or equivalent work experience.
Navy Network System Administrator experience or equivalent work experience.
Over 4 years of related experience managing, troubleshooting, and correcting incidents and problems for Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services or CANES family of systems including; SABI/TSABI – RADMERC, Blade Centers, VTC, and Networker/Veeam Backup solutions
Detailed knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers, servers, and printers to include VMware Vsphere, VCenter server Appliance (VCSA)
Hold active clearance or eligible or clearance.
Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure.
Certified in the following: CompTIA A+, ITIL Certification, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+, CCNA preferred
Familiarity with Navy organizational structure, processes, and procedures
