Position Title : Human Subjects Protection Scientist
Position Location : This position is full time onsite in Silver Spring, MD with regular task-related off-site travel
Daily Responsibilities :
•Evaluate research protocols and protocol lifecycle actions (e.g., amendments, continuing reviews, safety reports, deviations, etc.) for compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and draft a Protocol Evaluation Form (PEF)/pre-review for each action received.
•Manage the approval process for protocol lifecycle actions by promptly drafting/triaging memoranda within three business days of receipt and obtaining the necessary level of review/approval.
•Develop new and recommend revisions to existing policies and procedures upon request and in a timely manner.
•Attend and participate in seminars, scientific conferences, and meetings pertaining to human subjects protection issues.
•Participate in Site Assistance Visits (SAV) to client and partner laboratories and draft SAV reports within ten business days following each visit.
•Write communications to Principal Investigators (PIs) to include protocol minutes and excerpts from IRB meetings which shall be provided within four business days after the IRB meeting.
Required Years of Experience (min) :
•5 years of experience
Required Education:
•MS degree in allied sciences and 2 years IRB regulatory experience, OR BA/BS in allied sciences and 5 years of IRB regulatory experience
Required Experience :
•IRB regulatory experience.
•Experience managing the approval process for protocol lifecycle actions.
•Experience managing client and partner relationships.
•Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Previous DoD regulatory experience preferred.
•Ability to work independently and in team settings.
•Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Required Clearance :
•U.S. citizenship required.
•Candidates must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by management
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: TBD
