Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing & Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to support the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) program at Hanscom AFB, MA.
The SAOC program is a Major Defense Acquisition Program tasked with leading the development and delivery of the replacement fleet for the E-4B National Airborne Operations (NAOC).

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide manufacturing and quality assurance support services for the SAOC program in compliance with AF SEAM processes for program activities including, but not limited to:
- Supporting producibility trade-off studies,
- Reviewing and analyzing production capabilities,
- Supporting the assessing process control methodologies,
- Supporting the development of specifications,
- Supporting manufacturing readiness assessments,
- Reviewing and analyzing production plans,
- Supporting the assessing statistical process control techniques,
- Supporting the conduct of factory simulations,
- Preparing or reviewing manufacturing plans and data,
- Preparing or reviewing Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs),
- Supporting manufacturing input to Requests for Proposals (RFPs),
- Reviewing Development/Sustainment cost proposals for adequacy of requirements and cost realism,
- Reviewing and analyzing manufacturing readiness assessments,
- Supporting FCAs/PCAs,
- Planning Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) reviews,
- Analyzing data from QA & QC reviews,
- Documenting QA & QC reviews,
- Creating / maintaining quality management systems
- Collecting manufacturing data
- Evaluating reliability, availability and maintainability
- Provide concepts and requirements analyses support services including, but not limited to reviewing and analyzing:
- Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs),
- Capability Development Documents (CDDs),
- Capability Production Documents (CPDs),
- Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs),
- Military Utility Assessments (MUAs),
- Concepts of Operation (CONOPs),
- Technology Development Strategies
- Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered into a system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST have an active US Security Clearance
- Engineering degree, and 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or weapon systems development and integration.
- Prefer experience with major aircraft development/integration programs.
- Extensive experience with industrial manufacturing processes, standards and quality assurance metrics and processes.
- Prefer Progressive experience in manufacturing engineering development projects, to include engineering documentation, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits to enable government ownership of the program technical baseline.
