OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder has an exciting opportunity for a Kinematic Systems Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join the Threat Modeling Center (TMC) under the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC).
REQUIREMENTS
This position is located onsite daily, with no teleworking or relocation support available. As a Kinematic Systems Engineer, you will be a critical member of the team responsible for delivering high-fidelity threat modeling products to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and its broader mission. You will develop and deliver simulated missile trajectories and threat laydowns tailored to specific scenarios and end-users, both domestic and foreign.
1. Generate kinematic trajectory data using the Threat Modeling & Simulation Suite (TMSS)
2. Analyze adversary TTPs, strategic objectives, and Order of Battle to simulate realistic missile attacks
3. Function as a "Red Force" targeteer and weaponeer, assigning targets and warheads per scenario needs
4. Deliver high-resolution, scenario-specific threat products (Integrated Threat Products - ITPs)
5. Collaborate with system engineers and software developers to improve modeling tools
6. Review customer scenario requests and provide expert feedback
7. Perform rigorous quality checks on final deliverables to ensure mission accuracy
8. Work across Linux and Windows platforms for modeling, testing, and analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
Level 2:
1. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2 years of related experience OR Master's degree in a STEM field and 0 years of experience
2. Experience with modeling and simulation
3. Understanding of missile systems and six degrees of freedom (6 DoF) modeling
4. Familiarity with MDA systems and missile defense interoperability
5. Proficient in both Linux and Windows environments
6. Strong time management, organization, and communication skills
7. Ability to work independently and in collaborative team settings
Level 3:
8. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5 years of related experience OR Master's degree and 3 years of related experience
9. All Level 2 qualifications, plus:
10. Strong experience in Linux/Windows platforms
11. Background in quality control, testing, and troubleshooting
12. Experience in project leadership, delegation, and scheduling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
13. Experience with Red Force missile laydowns and targeting/allocation techniques
14. Understanding of infrared (IR) and radar cross section (RCS) signatures
15. Background in systems engineering or software testing (especially Agile methodology)
16. Familiarity with MDA Ground Test events and exercises
