Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Senior Desktop Support Engineer / Junior System Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced desktop support, managing system configurations, and assisting in various administrative tasks within the server and network environments. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, effective communication with end-users, and a proactive approach to system maintenance and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
○ Provide high-level technical support to end-users on desktop applications, hardware issues, and network connectivity problems.
○ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications.
○ Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, peripherals, and software, ensuring all systems adhere to company standards.
○ Assist in the management and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, including user account administration, server monitoring, and routine updates.
○ Support Active Directory management, including user creation, group policy enforcement, and permissions auditing.
○ Participate in system configuration and deployment of servers, implementing scripts for automation where possible.
○ Help manage and troubleshoot local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), ensuring optimal performance and security.
○ Collaborate with network teams to assist in setting up and deploying network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
○ Create and maintain detailed documentation of support requests, installation processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
○ Generate regular reports on user support tickets and system performance metrics for management review.
○ Conduct training sessions for users on new hardware and software, providing support in technology adoption and best practices.
○ Offer remote support for users in various locations through remote desktop tools and provide assistance as needed during office hours or on-call.

Qualifications:
• Experience:
○ 4-6+ years of experience in a desktop support role or system administration position, preferably in a corporate environment.
○ Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server administration, desktop support.
• Technical Skills:
○ Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop environments using Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
○ Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote desktop protocols.
○ Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Working Conditions:
Work in a typical office environment; may require occasional after-hours support and travel to remote locations.
