Telecommunications Specialist

The Opportunity:

A well-designed network and telecommunications system is critical to moving data and information and enables the DoD to achieve its missions, but how can an organization ensure its network and telecommunications system will fit its current and evolving needs? Designing the appropriate network support and communication systems with the correct equipment and sof tware requires a combination of technical and telecom skills and careful planning for successful implementation.

As a Telecommunications Spe cia list, you will support the development of architectural blueprints for new networks and enhancements to production networks, including administration of telecom, IT support systems, and infrastructure. You'll be responsible for telecom needs end-to-end, including endpoint, supporting infrastructure, network switching, media gateways, routers, and servers. You'll apply advanced consult ing skills or extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. You'll develop innovative solutions to complex problems and work without considerable direction. You'll mentor and may supervise team members.

You Have:

  • Experience with telecommunications and supporting systems, including installation, administration, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of STIGs and their impact on the ATO process
  • Knowledge of wiring and infrastructure as applicable to telecom and datacom networks
  • Ability to develop requirements and technical solutions
  • Ability to obtain a TS / SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain Avaya Certification within 12 months of start date
  • PBX Systems Certification with IP or TDM Trunking and Endpoints, including Avaya or Cisco Certification
  • Network Certification, including Security+, CCNA, CCNP, or Windows Server Certification


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience as a technical lead across multiple functional domains
  • Experience with design and implementation of government and commer cia l encryption
  • Knowledge of additional communication systems technologies, including optical, voice, automation, or orchestration tools
  • IAT and IAM Level I Certification
  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
