Role Overview:
As the Assistant Facility Security Officer, you will be responsible for the assisting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the administration of the government security and Communication Security (COMSEC) program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The Assistant Facility Security Officer will serve as a technical expert to provide a secure and compliant workplace for employees, contractors, visitors, and suppliers. The role collaborates with the FSO Edison Works Industrial Security Operations team and leadership to develop and implement security processes and procedures to meet business needs across the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate, develop, and/or assist in organization security initiatives as directed by the FSO, GE Edison Works Industrial Security Operations team, and/or the Senior Management Official.
- Assist in the management of all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, business policy, and customer contractual requirements.
- Investigate National Security program-specific incidents that impact cleared personnel, accredited facilities, and/or information systems.
- Participate and liaise with key external industry partnerships and internal stakeholder relationships to garner best practices and influence emerging policy.
- Serve as the alternate point of contact for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and National Security Agency (NSA) reviews and correspondence. Establish a working relationship with DCSA, NSA, and other government security personnel.
- Prepare and participate in DCSA Security Review.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Industrial Security and/or Communication Security)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Security and/or Communication Security
- Possession of an active Secret clearance
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Policy
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining areas in accordance with 32 CFR 117 (NISPOM) and/or ICD 705 standard
- Hands-on experience managing a COMSEC account, COMSEC fill devices, cryptographic keying material, and controlled cryptographic items
- Working knowledge of NISS, DISS, DIAS, NSA COR, and NSA Key Support
- Previous completion of NSA COMSEC Custodian Certification Course
- Previous experience with Key Management Interface or EKMS
- Demonstrated familiarity with Personnel Security and Information Assurance
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with little management oversight
- Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Ability to interpret and enforce government regulations
