Peerless is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our growing team in support of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) work at NASIC. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions that enhance the performance and functionality of our systems. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining SQL queries, routines, and database structures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and implement database solutions that meet user requirements, improve business functions, and ensure the highest level of data integrity and security.
Job duties to include but not limited to:
• Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Ferret DB, and MongoDB on both Windows and Linux servers, while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for efficient database operations, with a focus on query performance tuning and index optimization.
• Design and implement data structures for OLTP and OLAP databases, ensuring consistency and adherence to database standards.
• Collaborate with developers and project teams to define and implement database solutions that align with user requirements and business needs.
• Enforce security protocols by implementing and monitoring STIG guidelines, performing vulnerability checks, and ensuring compliance with security best practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation of system architecture, security controls, and operational procedures for database management.
• Manage and support ACAS tools to ensure scans and processes meet compliance standards.
Requirements:
• BS Computer Science or equivalent field
• 5+ years of database development/design on Oracle/DB2 Databases on Linux
• SQL queries, embedded SQL, stored procedures, and functions
• Query/index performance tuning and optimization
• Top Secret/SCI security clearance
