Cyber Engineer - Mid Level - ACAS

*Active TS/SCI Clearance required for consideration*

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mid- Level Cyber Engineer to support a highly classified defense contract. The Cyber Engineer will develop innovative solutions to enable secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems. They will engineer, design, develop, and implement enterprise network cyber defense capabilities to prevent sophisticated cyber threats. This is a long term position that is funded through 2031. This position is required to be in-person at the client site at one of the following locations: Reston VA, DC, or College Park, MD.

Responsibilities Include:

• Understand the fundamentals of layered defense and zero trust technologies
• Prevent adversary network threats, identify advanced attack vectors, and thwart methods of exploitation
• Ensure project completion and provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers.
• Provide expertise in the engineering design, development, direction, and implementation of enterprise network cyber defense capabilities.
• Apply familiarity with the utilization, configuration, and implementation of cyber defense capabilities, including web content filters, email security capabilities, Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System, Host Based Security Systems, Security Incident and Event Management tools, Domain Name System security practices, advanced log analysis, network monitoring, network flow analysis, packet capture analysis, network proxies, firewalls, anti-virus capabilities, Linux or UNIX command line, and access control lists.

Qualifications Include:

• Active TS/SCI with willingness to take a CI polygraph
• 4+ years of experience with privileged and elevated access operating, maintaining, and patching a DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
• Experience with STIGs, SCAP, and cybersecurity best practices
• HS Diploma and 7+ years of experience, or Bachelors degree and 3+ years of experience
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification ( Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND Certification)
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Cyber Security Service Certification (CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND Certification)

Compensation Includes:

• Salary Range: $110,000 - $145,000 **depending on experience**
