Our multi-disciplined Process Engineering team performs hands-on problem solving in a collaborative and fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are subject matter experts for processes and materials in a cleanroom environment which focuses on radiofrequency (RF) microelectronic packaging and surface mount technology. This hands-on role confronts new projects and challenges every day and requires cross-functional collaboration in both cutting-edge automation and mature production processes. We develop and implement materials, processes and process improvements to our factory, while providing production support using a variety of analytical techniques, including statistical process control, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis. We perform the evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) and interface with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

We are specifically seeking candidates who are hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented, organized, accountable, good communicators, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, experienced in automated manufacturing, and ready to solve unique problems daily.

What You Will Do

This is an on site role, Support the Microwave Automated Factory (an ISO Class 8 clean room environment) in high-volume, high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to equipment, process, material, and product problems.

Support manual and automated assembly processes involving epoxy and solder materials with microelectronic die and surface mount components.

Work hand-in-hand with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, and manufacturing engineers on product manufacturing.

Develop and implement materials, processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.

Evaluate materials, equipment and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) and interface with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

This role has a schedule that can be tailored to the candidate within business needs. Preferred schedule would be 4 days per week (10 hours per day) Tuesday-Friday or 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications You Must Have

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in electronics manufacturing with skills listed below, or

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Demonstrated advanced competency level in manual solder and epoxy assembly or rework.

Proficiency with Microsoft products including Windows 7, Windows 10, Word, and Excel.

Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with automated assembly equipment

Ability to spend 10+ hours per day in a clean room environment, following clean room and electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.

J-STD-001 Certification

Skilled in manual repackaging efforts for critical components.

Experience with complex rework on RF circuit cards.

Experience with Automated Dispense, Pick-and-Place, die attach, and SMT Soldering Processes

Demonstrated ability to work with a team and be a strong individual contributor

Demonstrated organizational skills and problem-solving ability

Self-motivated, proactive drive with ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment

Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role. Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
