Title: IT SME /Lead
Location : Washington, DC

Serves as the main point of contact and expert in enterprise architecture and managing projects related to the enterprise architecture of the overall IT Environment.
The IT Engineering Lead will lead the teams’ efforts to design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of IT systems to ensure efficient and secure operations. The IT Engineering Lead is responsible for overseeing various IT projects, driving innovation, and maintaining the company's technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of IT engineers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Set clear objectives and performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
IT Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers. Ensure the infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure to support business operations.
Project Management: Plan and oversee IT projects, including hardware and software deployments, system upgrades, and technology integrations. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex IT issues.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect data and systems from threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific requirements.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to procure and maintain IT solutions and services. Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements, and monitor vendor performance.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure IT systems' availability in case of unforeseen events.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments and teams to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions. Communicate IT initiatives, issues, and status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

The minimum qualifications:
• 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture projects.
• Proven experience in IT engineering, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, cloud services, and virtualization.
• Experience in project management and vendor relationship management.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements.
