Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer/Architect with a Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance to support a KDS and our government customer in Alexandria, VA.

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer/Architect to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge cloud computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, software engineering, and cybersecurity, paired with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into effective architectures.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and implement cloud computing solutions, including infrastructure, application architecture, and security architecture.
  • Develop and execute cloud strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership with guidance on cloud technologies and security practices.
  • Leverage enterprise-wide configuration control systems for cloud solutions and software development.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of designs within cost and time constraints.
  • Prepare detailed workflow charts, models, and diagrams describing logical operations.
  • Develop enterprise architecture and system components to meet user needs.
  • Document and update definition and architecture activities as needed.
  • Consult with customers and engineering staff about software system design and maintenance.
  • Optimize software configurations and design the integration of hardware and software solutions.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Expertise in design, implementation, integration, and operation of cloud-based solutions using cloud computing service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) and deployment models (private, public, hybrid).
  • Expertise in cloud networking concepts, cloud solutions, and security.
  • Expertise in identity concepts, cloud solutions, and security.
  • Expertise in automated implementation, integration, and deployment methodologies (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, etc..)
  • Proficiency in cloud automation for operations, monitoring, maintenance, and security.
  • Proficiency in cloud data concepts, cloud solutions, and security.
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies (Waterfall, Spiral, Agile, DevSecOps, etc...) and associated knowledge management tools (MS Project, Confluence, Jira, etc...).
  • Proficiency in aligning cybersecurity principles to cloud solutions and software development.
  • Knowledge of the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk management Framework.
  • Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions and software life cycle management.
  • Knowledge of testing and assessing cloud solutions and software.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Cloud Computing requirements, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Prior experience developing cloud computing strategies and designing cloud infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise IT architectural concepts and patterns.
  • Familiarity with tools for software debugging and design.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills to consult with customers and engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive cloud strategies and convert requirements into effective designs.
  • Relevant cloud and cybersecurity certifications or the ability to obtain them within 9 months (associate-level Azure certifications and minimum 8570 IAT Level III certification (CISM, CISSP)).
  • MS degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant discipline, plus 8 years of experience in relevant areas, or in T&E,Or bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • TS/SCI security clearance required
