Data Intelligence is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator (Linux) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren,VA. . This is an onsite position. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and support of Linux-based systems, including application servers, proxy servers, security appliances, load balancers, storage, and network devices.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting for system issues, requiring knowledge of firewall maintenance, DNS, networking, and switch configuration.
  • Manage and troubleshoot common networking issues, including LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, and IP subnetting.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade operating system and application engine software.
  • Monitor system, application, and network performance/availability
  • Document system and application engine configurations
  • Execute project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plan
  • Provide architectural guidance and implementation expertise, and respond to customer problems reported via email and support ticket system
Skills & Experience:
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems
  • Experience in:
    • System backup and recovery
    • basic software management
    • security management
    • library management
    • installation and configuration of hardware
    • operational systems and COTS software
    • operation computer systems in different operation environments
    • sizing performance
    • tuning
    • hardware/software/network trouble shooting
    • resource allocation
  • Qualified experience in:
    • different network protocols including TCP/IP
    • firewalls
    • knowledge of computing and network vulnerabilities
    • attach methods
    • latest detection methods
  • Proven ability to solve complex system-related problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and manage projects of varying lengths
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields
  • At least a secret level security clearance
  • IAT III Certification
