Support critical space operations as an Operations Planner - Space Command and Control (C2) at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. In this role, you will leverage your subject matter expertise in Space C2 to design, develop, and execute USSF-led exercises, including SPACE FLAG (SF), POLARIS HAMMER, and Flashpoint events. Your work will directly contribute to mission readiness by ensuring Guardians are prepared to operate in a contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment against a determined adversary.

Essential Duties
C2 Strategy & Planning
- Act as the interface between the USSF Exercise Team and Space C2 centers and their subordinate units.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop C2 guidance, and scenario timing, and ensure realistic effects and player actions during exercises.
- Identify and address gaps and shortfalls in M&S tools, ensuring realistic exercise environments.
Exercise Development & Coordination
- Partner with USSF exercise planners to develop, plan, and execute USSF exercises, Flashpoint events, and mission-focused events.
- Coordinate manning and support requirements with subject matter experts (SMEs) from S4S, CSpOC, NSDC, and other associated units.
- Participate in exercise planning conferences, coordination meetings, and training events to ensure smooth integration of C2 elements.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Play a key role as part of the White Cell and Exercise Control Group during exercise execution.
- Capture, analyze, and report observations and lessons learned from exercises, providing critical feedback to improve future planning.
- Support hot wash debriefs and assist with After Action Report (AAR) development post-exercise.
- Ensure all documentation (e.g., trip reports, planning/execution products, after-action reports) is submitted within required timelines.
Required Qualifications
- 10-15 years of operational space experience (of which 5-7 years of Command and Control experience)
- Current or recent experience within the last 5 years working in S4S, NSDC, and/or CSpOC conducting operational-level planning.
- Proven experience in joint strategic or operational planning at the CCMD or Service Component level.
- Ability to travel approximately 6-8 weeks per year for exercise-related events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of the USAF Weapons School.
- Experience in planning, developing, coordinating, and executing USSF space capabilities in Service, JCS, and CCMD operations or exercises.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution OR additional years of experience my substitute for degree requirement.
Required Clearance
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
Travel
- Limited travel (approx. 6-8 weeks/year).
