Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Market Research & Opportunity Identification:
-Conduct in-depth research on government procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, eBuy, GovWin) to identify potential contract opportunities aligned with our capabilities.
-Perform comprehensive market research on relevant industry events (e.g., SOFIC, NCMA, DHITS) to recommend attendance and networking opportunities that enhance visibility and drive growth.
Capture Strategy Development:
-Develop and implement comprehensive capture plans using proven methodologies, including the Shipley Method and pWIN strategies.
-Leverage the 360 BD established Kim Leach method to create structured win themes, conduct competitive analysis, and build effective customer engagement strategies.
Pipeline Management:
-Maintain and update the capture pipeline using tools like Vantagepoint.
-Provide regular status reports to leadership on pursuit progress, potential risks, and actionable next steps.
Resource Management: Identify and secure necessary resources including teaming partners, subcontractors, and internal personnel to enhance bid competitiveness.
Client Engagement:
-Support relationship-building efforts with government agencies by leveraging established connections with organizations such as CDAO, DISA, FAA, SOCOM, Army, Navy, DHA, VA, NCMA, and GSA.
-Develop detailed call plans with target contacts, clear objectives, talking points, and follow-up actions to ensure consistent execution and nurturing of key relationships.
Competitive Analysis: Analyze competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and past performance to inform strategic capture decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
Bid/No-Bid Decisions: Facilitate gate reviews and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership on pursuit decisions, assessing risks, profitability, and strategic alignment.
Proposal Support: Collaborate with proposal teams to translate capture strategies into compelling, compliant, and customer-focused proposals, incorporating Shipley Method best practices for structure and clarity.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS) and monitor changes in political and contracting trends to ensure all activities align with legal and ethical standards.
Event & Travel Planning:
-Assist in planning and preparing for industry conferences and networking events (e.g., SOFIC, NCMA, DHITS).
-Coordinate travel logistics, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation to ensure cost-efficiency and smooth execution.
Marketing Tool Development: Develop and refine marketing materials, such as pitch decks, capability statements, large signs, and custom swag, to enhance brand presence and stakeholder engagement.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Proven Government Contracting Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, capture management, or a related field with a focus on government contracting.
Expertise in Capture Methodologies: Demonstrated experience with the Shipley Method, pWIN strategies, and the Kim Leach method.
Strong Analytical & Strategic Skills: Excellent ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making to drive capture strategies.
Pipeline & Project Management: Proficiency in managing capture pipelines and using tools like Vantagepoint to monitor and report progress.
Exceptional Communication & Relationship Building: Proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic relationships with government agencies and industry partners.
