Industrial Security Specialist

This position will support the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information (DOE OSTI) Security Officer in the administration of federal security compliance programs. The Industrial Security Specialist will focus on ensuring adherence to DOE security directives, including DOE Order 470.6 and NISPOM requirements, through activities such as personnel clearance support, access control coordination, audit preparation, and security documentation. This is a compliance- and policy-focused role with some coordination of physical security measures, such as building access and badging; it is not a guard or enforcement position. The individual in this role will help maintain a secure operating environment that supports DOE’s mission and protects sensitive information and assets.

ducation, Training, Experience

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a security related field.
Experience with the Department of Energy’s Technical Security Program DOE 470.6 is highly desirable.
Knowledge of DOE security directives, particularly the DOE 400 series, is preferred. Experience with comparable federal security policies or agency-specific protocols may also be considered.
Familiarity with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) and federal classified information handling procedures is strongly preferred.
