Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Kubernetes Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining secure and resilient Kubernetes environments for our application teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our platform is easy to use, reliable, and resistant to disruptions. By incorporating good DevSecOps practices, you will help improve the overall security and stability of our Kubernetes clusters. You will ensure that the platform enables application developers to deliver value while exceeding customer needs for stability and security.

- Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
- Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
- Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
- Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Primary Responsibilities

As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining secure and resilient Kubernetes environments for our application teams. By incorporating good DevSecOps practices, you will help improve the overall security and stability of our Kubernetes clusters. You will ensure that the platform enables application developers to deliver value while exceeding customer needs for stability and security.
Typical Duties Include:
- Creation and sustainment of Kubernetes clusters
- Installation, configuration, testing, and sustainment of DevSecOps tools
- Integration and automation of the DevSecOps tools to enable Cl/CD
- Implementing automation in cluster and tool creation
- Implementing process and procedures for utilizing the DevSecOps pipeline
- Maintenance of the DevSecOps pipeline to ensure availability to the software developers
- Rapid resolution of DevSecOps pipeline issues
- Position may require at times, night and/or weekend work to maintain a secure and resilient system
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Be detail-oriented
- 12 or more years of directly related IT experience
- 5 or more years of experience working with containerized and/or cloud platforms and implementing DevSecOp practices
- Experience with containerization and microservices
- Experience with Cl/CD pipelines. DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IAC) principles
- Experience working with Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience Implementing Cl/CD deployment pipelines for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Kubernetes, refactored software projects for integration in larger ecosystem of applications
- Experience implementing DevSecOps in a container ecosystem
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (laC) platforms. like Terraform and Ansible
- Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments
- Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines in a VMware Tanzu environment
- 3 or more years of experience deploying and maintaining VMWare Tanzu clusters
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and over 10 years DevSecOps work experience
- Must have IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
