DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Group Policy Administration to include the following:
- Create, manage, and administer group policies to enforce security settings, software deployment, and system configurations.
- Create or assist in the development of enterprise-level GPO's that are customized for each site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve group policy-related issues.
- DoD guidelines on a quarterly basis
- Organization of network tasks, events, and configuration alarm notifications
- Apply all MHS Active Directory GPOs for all operating systems to ensure compliance with Defense Health Agency (DHA)/ Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/MHS Secure Host Baseline standards.
- Create, manage, and administer group policies to enforce security settings, software deployment, and system configurations.
- Software Server Configurations and Support to include the following:
- Configure and support required third party software used for command program management.
- Engage with vendors to resolve Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)s affecting education and training learning management software, i.e. Question Mark, various LMS solutions and physical security control software solutions
- Assist users in gaining access to remote access applications, install required software, train users, and resolve technical issues.
- Verify patching of software on all Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) enterprise servers.
- Perform day-to-day server and storage operations and administration activities.
- Manage all aspects of all classes of servers and supporting equipment, including all hardware and software systems and tools used to monitor, maintain, optimize, and report on environment health and status.
- Monitor and verify that all server and storage systems and associated hardware and software components are tested and deployed within the Government's environment in compliance with all applicable DoD/DON cyber security requirements.
- Configure and support required third party software used for command program management.
- Windows Server Administration to include the following:
- Manage and administer Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure all production and development servers are properly maintained to Operating Software (OS) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
- Maintain administration of each Windows Server (all versions) license.
- Report performance and capacities to Network Manager and make allocation recommendations based on trend analysis.
- Track all service activities including system log verifications and perform software updates on client servers.
- Monitor server performance and ensure optimal functionality and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows server-related issues.
- Develop scripts and documentation to increase administration efficiency and knowledge base
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network device configuration, refine procedures and documentation as changes are implemented.
- Maintain access to administrator level privileges on all servers and desktops to ensure the integrity of those systems.
- Liaison with DHA J-6 offices throughout Med-COI transitions for server compliance
- Work with DCOPS to make sure all servers are backed up and tested at least once a year.
- Manage and administer Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure all production and development servers are properly maintained to Operating Software (OS) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
- Information Assurance and Vulnerability Mitigations, to include the following:
- Perform ACAS scanning to identify vulnerabilities on servers and other machines as needed.
- Collaborate with the NMTOC ISSM to develop mitigation strategies and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and report on the status of vulnerabilities management activities while remediating PO A&M items.
- Document all server local policy changes for NMOTC ISSM approval.
- Ensure STIG compliance for all servers, including manual DoD STIGs on VMWARE hosts.
- Apply information assurance policies, procedures, and security measures to all servers.
- Report malicious or suspicious activity to Network IA and Network Managers to maintain integrity of the network.
- Create CKL files and show progress each week to minimize findings.
- Provide all server and storage cyber security management information (e.g., system vulnerabilities, security incidents, and intrusion detection) in accordance with cyber security reporting policies and shall provide results to designated Government representatives.
- Perform ACAS scanning to identify vulnerabilities on servers and other machines as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High School diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience and knowledge responding, diagnosing, and remediating server issues in a dynamic environment.
- Experience analyzing system logs and monitoring allocations to provide appropriate recommendations to Network Manager based on trend analysis.
- Experience documenting server and systems software component versioning.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance
